Peel Football and Netball League products Mitchel Curnow and Andrew Haydon impressed in their WAFL season debuts over the weekend.
The duo, who have split the past two Ross Elliott Medals as the PFNL's best and fairest players, put in solid performances for their respective West Coast and South Fremantle outfits.
Lining up as part of the Eagles' inaugural WAFL side, Curnow contributed 16 disposals, five marks and five tackles in the round-one loss to Perth.
Only six West Coast players collected more of the footy than the Rockingham Rams product, as he topped the likes of AFL-listed players Francis Watson (14 disposals), Will Schofield (10) and Daniel Venables (11).
His performance is likely to earn him another gig this weekend, which will see Curnow taking on his old WAFL club in Peel Thunder.
Meanwhile Haydon, who won the 2017 Ross Elliott Medal, made his presence felt for his new South Fremantle home.
While to PFNL star didn't find as much of the footy as Curnow, his pressure was elite as he laid eight tackles to go with his 11 touches.
No one on the ground laid more tackles than the former Falcon in the Bulldogs' win over Swan Districts, with opponent Jesse Turner the only one to equal the feat.
Haydon and Curnow are both able to return to their PFNL clubs should they not be chosen for games at their WAFL bases this season.
The option appears more likely for Curnow to use given West Coast doesn't field a reserves side in the WAFL, but it's understood South Mandurah won't see Haydon in a blue and gold jumper this year.
