The Mandjar Art Award Exhibition's People's Choice award has been announced with an incredible, lifelike piece taking out top place.
Over 5000 people who viewed the exhibition at the Alcoa Mandurah Art Gallery in the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre cast their vote for their favourite artwork.
This year's People's Choice award was presented to Susan Hood for her artwork Beau - Rainbow Lorikeet in oil on canvas.
Ms Hood took home $1000 in prize winnings, sponsored by the Halls Head Community Branch of Bendigo Bank.
The talented artist said she was inspired by her love of nature to paint her incredible work.
"I am passionate about nature and wildlife, I rehabilitate injured birds when I can," she said.
"Beau was in my care for a while, so I couldn't resist a portrait of his cheeky personality.
"I was absolutely thrilled to receive the People's Choice at the recent Mandjar Art Awards and it is a thrill to have my painting liked by so many people."
Art Gallery curator Gary Aitken said Ms Hood was a deserving winner of the award.
"I would like to congratulate all the artists in this year's Mandjar Art Awards for making this year's awards so successful and a special congratulations to Susan for her exquisite portrait of 'Beau'," he said.
