Much-loved roots musician Jay Hoad will bring his unique sound back to the Peel region this weekend with a special performance at Redcliffe on the Murray as part of his new album launch.
The multi-instrumentalist has been on the road in Australia performing at the Adelaide Fringe Festival, where he took home a 'Best Event' award before his string of tour dates on the west coast and through the Northern Territory.
With a show renowned for its epic and unique sound, Hoad will play almost 20 instruments on stage including a drum kit, skateboard guitar and didgeridoos.
A blend of his Fijian island roots, tribal beats, rock riffs, funky dance grooves, acoustic ballads and reggae - it is a performance that promises to get audiences up on their feet.
Hoad has recorded seven full length albums since his career took off 10 years ago and said he can't wait to introduce his new stuff to fans in Western Australia.
"I am looking so forward to the shows in WA - the locals have always been so supportive of the show in this region and have had some really memorable shows here on past Australian tours," he said.
"I absolutely love WA and I've got a few days of downtime after the show so looking forward to checking out some of the countryside - definitely gonna juice me with good vibes to take around Australia, Europe.
"This years tour has so many cool locations and festivals on the various legs, and I'm really excited to bring the new tunes and instruments to the fans around the world.
"The 'Skateboard Guitar' made by my good friend Craig Koen in SA has been stealing the show at the festivals around the world, people just can't believe the sound that comes out of this thing."
