A man dedicated to giving back to his community has been honoured with the City of Mandurah's monthly Local Legends award.
John Lawrence has spent the last 10 years working as a volunteer Treasurer with The Compassionate Friends Mandurah and shows no sign of stopping.
Mr Lawrence received the accolade for continually showing his understanding and empathy despite not being a bereaved parent himself.
The Compassionate Friends Mandurah relies totally on donations and fundraising efforts to meet the costs of grief support services provided to bereaved families in the region following the death of a child.
