Mandurah MP David Templeman has voiced his support for an AFL team to be located in the Peel region amidst talk of the league's future expansion plans.
Speaking to Nine News Perth on Tuesday, the Minister for Local Government pitched Mandurah as a potential destination for an AFL club.
"If there's a new footy team planned for Western Australia, you only have to look here in the Peel region and Mandurah's the centre for that new footy team to be established," he said.

The comments come on the back of Western Bulldogs president Peter Gordon calling on the AFL to expand by a further two clubs.
Gordon pointed to Tasmania as the first area of potential expansion, before stating both Adelaide and Perth would have the scope to field an extra AFL team.
"I'd like to see the competition expand again," Gordon told the Herald Sun.
"I think Adelaide and Perth will both have sufficient scale, population and passion to come under consideration for a third club in the future."
Templeman's comments come just over a week after Mandurah hosted both West Coast and Fremantle in a JLT Community Series clash.
The game saw a sold-out crowd of thousands flock to David Grays Arena.
But AFL chief executive officer Gillon McLachlan refused to speculate about a third team in the west, saying the league was solely focused on expansion in Tasmania.
"I can only talk to Tasmania and what is a pathway to a potential future for them," he said.
"I think speculating on other licences is a bit early."
