Mandurah police have arrested and charged a man over a string of burglary offences after a pursuit and foot chase on Thursday morning.
A 24-year-old Mandurah man was spotted while driving on Jannali Way in San Remo and allegedly failed to stop when summonsed by officers, leading to a short pursuit.
The man was allegedly driving a Jeep he had stolen from a home in Luttrell Street in Beeliar on March 3 and abandoned the vehicle on Boileau Place in Meadow Springs.
Police say the man tried to evade arrest, with a lengthy foot chase taking place through Meadow Springs before he was apprehended and arrested at about 7am.
Local residents are said to have assisted in police capturing him.
Before he was arrested, police allege he kicked the front door of two homes open in Madora Bay and San Remo and stole possessions from four different properties.
Mandurah police senior sergeant Darren Hart labelled the man as a "prolific burglar", with officers working through Thursday to charge him with numerous offences.
He is also accused of stealing handbags and keys from a Lamberts Cove home in Secret Harbour on March 6 and on the same day stealing tools and household items from a home in Flagstaff Crescent.
The man has been charged with two stealing motor vehicle offences, six counts of stealing, three aggravated home burglaries, reckless driving to escape pursuit, trespassing and a number of other charges.
He is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court today.
