The Mandurah Calisthenics Club is hoping to solidify its future and discover the city's next wave of performers as they look for youngsters to fill their junior ranks.
The club has a proud, three decade-long history of developing future dancers and performers in the Peel region and is hoping to carry on their work as they search for new members, specifically to fill their sub-junior (aged 7-10) and tinies (4-6) divisions.
The age brackets cater to children looking to try the sport, which combines gymnastics, ballet, folk dance, jazz ballet, apparatus, figure marching, mime and singing.
Beginners will start out learning the basics before eventually having the chance to take on state and national levels, with the club traveling to compete in events.
The club also caters to older and more experienced performers.
Outside of the dance and performance development, Mandurah Calisthenics Club life member Bev O'Kane cited learning social skills as one of the main benefits for young people involved in the sport.
"So many of our girls come in and they make so many friends," she said.
"Particularly the younger ones who don't really know any kids their age outside of their school. It's great for them to come in and meet plenty of new people.
"It's amazing to watch the girls grow as they continue along the pathway, not just on the dancefloor but also as people."
The club runs sessions on a weekly basis, with tinies, sub-juniors and juniors all practicing on Saturdays while intermediates and seniors classes are held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays respectively.
