Mandurah has officially opened the first of what will be a state-wide exhibition celebrating archives and heritage.
Alernative Archive is a contemporary visual archive or archival process of an aspect of the Peel, drawn from personal relationships with the people, places and stories around them.
The exhibition was opened during a launch event at the Contemporary Art Spaces Mandurah (CASM) gallery at 2pm on February 17.
West Australian Arts Minister and Mandurah MP David Templeman and Mayor Rhys Williams spoke during the opening to welcome the exhibition and thank those who had brought it to fruition.
The series forms part of the Connect to the Creative Grid project run through the Regional Arts Partnership Program and supported by the State Government and Country Arts WA.
The exhibition will consist of 22 arts venues in total.
CASM has partnered with the Mandurah Community Museum to present the Alternative Archive and all activities and learning programs associated with the exhibition.
