The Mandurah Seniors and Community Centre and City of Mandurah have kindly given their permission for a benefit concert to take place on Saturday, April 27, at the Seniors and Community Centre.
As coordinator of the concert, along with the staff from centre, we give a huge thank you to the City and all those people that have helped to make it a reality.
They are all passionate about the benefit concert and without their help, it would have been a much greater challenge.
Nine of Western Australia’s most seasoned performers will perform solo on stage.
Their extensive experience and performance abilities are right up there with the rest of the world.
The concert is in aide of The Profile – the History of WA Music 1960 to 1990. The profile team consists of Alan Simpson, Gary Dunn, Mark Whitehouse and Phil Straughan.
For two years now the team have been compiling and recording to safeguard many of Perth’s musicians’ life stories.
The team are all contributing towards this special project, preserving the history of celebrated Perth bands, musicians, technicians and promoters.

To date 100 recordings have taken place. It is ongoing and I was lucky enough to sit through an interview and observe the actual work the team are undertaking.
Their episodes air on Pro Copies - YouTube channel each Friday.
Future generations can take inspiration from all of the individual stories told.
The concert The Way We Were, is the second concert for fundraising purposes for the team to help continue their valuable contribution and to continue their work.
They have not received any external or internal funding.
I feel we should all to get behind The Profile team to help them safeguard our history.
The benefit concert is open to all ages and we would love to see some ‘baby boomers’ there.
Tickets are available for purchase from the Seniors Citizens Centre and go on sale on March 4.
Inquiries can be made to Bethany at the Seniors Centre by calling 9550 3777.
