Recreational fishers keen to bag some abalone can head to Mandurah waters on Saturday morning.
The hour of allocated time will take place 7-8am.
Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development senior management officer Rhiannon Jones said weather conditions would allow fishing to go ahead.
"At all times safety is a priority for the department and each day’s fishing will always be assessed carefully in the lead up days," she said.
"The catch levels on the two fishing days so far have not exceeded the reference levels and, even with a planned fishing day still to occur this Saturday, we are now confident the season’s total catch will be within the sustainability range.
"Therefore, an extra day’s fishing is now programmed for Saturday, March 9.
"For this fishery to remain sustainable, it’s vital fishers comply with the bag and size limits for abalone and departmental Fisheries officers will be at abalone fishing locations in the West Coast Zone, between the Busselton Jetty and Moore River, to check compliance on Saturday."
The Mandurah Mail was at the beach on February 2, with plenty of people taking the opportunity to ensnare the seafood delicacy - photos are in the gallery above.
A Fisheries spokesman said Mandurah fishers generally complied with the rules but four people were issued warnings.
He said the most popular places for abalone fishing in Mandurah was Seascapes, Falcon Bay and Tims Thicket.
