Malcolm Turnbull's book about his time as prime minister and his career will be released in late 2019, after the next federal election.
The publishing date will be a relief for Prime Minister Scott Morrison because it means he will avoid any unwanted revelations breaking ahead of the May poll.
"Hardie Grant is proud to be working with Malcolm, who has had unique access to national and international issues and figures in his political and working life," Hardie Grant Publishing chief executive officer Sandy Grant said on Friday.
Mr Turnbull has a history with the publisher, which he worked with during the 1987 Spycatcher case when he fought to allow a book to be published.
Hardie Grant also published Mr Turnbull's 1999 book, Fighting for the Republic.
"The only thing that is more fun than writing an adventure story is living it," Mr Turnbull said in a statement.
Publisher Arwen Summers said Mr Turnbull's writing is "infused with a wry humour" and backed up with extracts from a diary he kept throughout his political career.
The book will cover his early career, his time as prime minister and encounters with global leaders including Donald Trump.
