A Dudley Park family of four has cashed in big after claiming almost half a million dollars thanks to last Saturday’s Lotto draw.
The small business owners took home a whopping $410,064 after their trip to the Lotterywest offices, saying the win will help put them back on track after a fair share of ups and downs.
“I used the last $16 dollars from my weekly spending money to buy the ticket,” the wife said.
“We really needed this.
“We were in absolute shock and didn’t believe it until we went to Lotterywest and the lady who greeted us confirmed it.”
The family said they were planning a small hotel getaway to celebrate their win along with staying on top of their mortgage.
Their big win was succeeded by Western Australia’s ninth division one winner this year, with Hutton Street Lottery Centre in Osborne Park producing a $1 million winning ticket.
Lotterywest spokesperson Jennie Fitzhardinge said WA was off to a flying start to the Lotto year, with the $20 million Saturday Lotto Superdraw just around the corner.
“We’re hoping to break the record for most division one wins in February ever,” Ms Fitzhardinge said.
“We’re hopeful we’ll see some more winners come through our door after this Saturday.”
Tickets are available until 6pm draw day from Lotterywest in-store, online or through the app.
