Mundijong police attended a fire overnight at the Karnet Prison Farm, a 40 minute drive north east of Mandurah.
A WA Police spokesperson spokesman said Department of Fire and Emergency Services extinguished the fire inside a mechanical workshop.
The spokesman said staff and inmates were accounted for and the fire was not deemed suspicious.
