Get the glasses of milk ready – the Ravenswood Hotel are gearing up for their hottest event yet.
Named the ‘Death by Popper’ challenge, this one is not for the faint-hearted.
The Ravo will host USA chilli-eating legend Johnny Scoville for a one-on-one jalapeno eating competition on February 18.

Scoville will be in Western Australia for the Araluen Chilli Festival in Perth before making his way down to the Peel region to take on six brave contestants.
The jalapeno poppers are specially made by award-winning Chef Kenny Roberts from Chillin’ Out in WA and they are known to “pack a punch”.
Contestants will go one for one until there is nobody left standing to take out the top prize.
There will prizes for the best male and female challenger to step up to Scoville with a chilli hamper and gift card, as well as bragging rights, on the table for the winners.

Scoville came to fame through his hilarious live Facebook and YouTube videos reviewing the hottest sauces and chilli products from across the globe.
His massive online following will be tuning in to the competition at the Ravo with a live streaming of the whole event.
Ravenswood Hotel entertainment manager Dave Feenstra said it was the perfect chance for WA to make a name for themselves on the chilli map with Scoville visiting for the first time.
“The Ravenswood Hotel has become so well known for it’s chilli festivals,” he said.
“Word has spread all the way through the chilli community to Johnny Scoville in the USA.
“We are going to have to show him what we are made of.”
