In his quest to secure federal government support for the region’s long-running battle for better services at the Peel Health Campus, Canning MP Andrew Hastie has invited federal health minister Greg Hunt to tour the facility.
On Wednesday, the duo plan to meet with hospital representatives and constituents to discuss the issue.
Mr Hastie will host a community barbecue after their official tour, to allow people to meet the minister and express their opinions on the future of the hospital.

The minister’s visit comes after Mr Hastie voiced his constituents’ woes over the facility during a speech to elected representatives in parliament last year.
The local MP has continued putting pressure on both state and federal government to support the facility and has even hosted a community rally in May along with Dawesville MP Zak Kirkup calling for the state government to invest in the hospital.
The Mandurah Mail has run a campaign over the last 12 months to advocate for infrastructure expenditure at the facility, with state health minister Roger Cook announcing in September that $5 million will go towards an emergency department upgrade.
Despite this, the federal member and his state colleague Mr Kirkup have both been campaigning for further funding to cater for the health needs of a growing Peel population.
The public event will be held on Wednesday between 12.30-1.30pm at the Eastlake Church, which is located across the road from the Peel Health Campus.
