The Mandurah Surf Life Saving Club hit the road to take part in the annual Country Carnival in Denmark over the Australia Day long weekend.
A total 31 of the club’s athletes convoyed down to Denmark’s Ocean Beach to take part in the carnival, participating in beach drills on Saturday before hitting the surf for water-based races on Sunday.
The youngsters also had a crack with Monday consisting of nippers competitions.
The club put in a strong showing at the carnival, with surf sports coach Monica Reinhardt ecstatic with the efforts.
“We competed really well and for us to have 31 athletes head down is really strong,” she said.
“The carnival is used as a bit of a tune up for the Country Championships coming up and then the State Championships after that, so it was really good to hit the beach.”
