Established 14 years ago, Mandurah Scooters supplies a choice of mobility scooters including top quality new scooters, plus they buy and sell used scooters, recondition them, repair them, and offer a pick-up and delivery service.
Today, Mandurah Scooters employs a team of seven including a mechanic, technician, salesman, driver, and accounting staff.
Proprietor Bill Philip, who has been involved from the very beginning, said Mandurah Scooters’ commitment to customer service set them apart.
“We try to be helpful, polite and responsive to the needs of every customer we deal with. We have the time and interest to understand a customer’s needs and communicate sympathetically and helpfully,” he said.
Mandurah Scooters sells new Eureka, Drive and Pride mobility scooters, TEBCO electric cycles and used mobility scooters of any brand, plus new and used parts, tyres and accessories such as shopping bags and sun canopies.
They service and repair all brands of mobility scooters, regardless of whether they sold them in the first place, and the team can also quote for and carry out insurance repairs.
Over the past few years, there had been enormous developments in technology when it came to mobility aids, so it was important to deal with a local team who knew what they were talking about.
“Mobility scooters are a specialised product, and expert knowledge is needed to make appropriate choices, and to then set up the scooter to give optimum service to the individual owner,” Bill said.
“A more diverse range of scooters is now available than was the case five or more years ago, and there are more and more offerings from online dealers, many of whom are based in another state, and require scooters with a fault to be returned to the place of purchase at the owner's expense, for warranty work.”
Bill said Mandurah Scooters had just ceased selling motorcycles and motor scooters, to ensure they could concentrate fully on their valued mobility customers.
Having been a JP for nearly 35 years, and as a member of the management board of Halls Head College Education Support Centre, Bill loves meeting the many interesting people who live in Mandurah and surrounds.
He and many of his staff are involved in sporting and social activities in their community.
“We also have offered short and long-term work placements, particularly to kids who are struggling at school,” Bill said.
