There is plenty to celebrate in the Peel region this weekend, including Australia Day festivities in Mandurah and Pinjarra.
We’ve collated all the best events to help our Mandurah Mail readers decide what to do.

Mandurah Masters Australia Day swim
- Where: Doddi’s Beach
- When: 7am
More than 500 swimmers are expected to take the water at Doddi’s Beach for the Mandurah Masters Swimming Club’s Australia Day swim this year.
The swim is an opportunity for anyone aged eight and above to participate in an open water dash, with four different distances catering to swimmers of all abilities – 250m, 1km, 2km and 4km.
Swimmers can register online at wowswims.com.au/australia-day-swim or on the day between 7-8am at the Mandurah Yacht Club on Halls Head Parade.
The first swim kicks off at 8.30am.
Australia Day Citizenship Ceremony
- Where: Eastern Foreshore
- When: 7am – 11am
From 7-11am, celebrate Australia Day with Mandurah’s largest annual citizenship ceremony, in its 70th year this year.
There will be a cooked Aussie breakfast until 9am from the Lions Club of Mandurah and live music by the Mandurah Concert Band.
With the official ceremony kicking off at 8.30am, 85 new citizens will be welcomed as Australians.
The winners of the Community Citizen of the Year Awards will be announced as well as the best dressed boat, organised by Mandurah Offshore Fishing and Sailing Club (MOFSC).
There will be no fireworks and the event is an alcohol, pet and smoke-free celebration.

- When: 7am – 10am
Join the Pinjarra Lions Club for their annual Australia Day brekkie on Saturday from 7am. There will be a $5 cook-up, live entertainment, free face painting and the chance to win a $400 Willie Creek Pearl.
From 8.30am the Shire will conduct the Citizen of the Year Awards ceremony to recognise and honour individuals or groups for their contribution to life in Murray.
Daybreak Club
- Where: Bar Therapy
- When: 4pm – 10pm
It’s Day Break Club, Australia Day edition this Saturday at Bar Therapy.
Featuring Pilerats DJs on the decks and all the best food and drink specials, this outdoor day party is one not to be missed.
Pilerats have supported the likes of Alison Wonderland, RUFUS and Nick Murphy (formerly Chet Faker). Support acts are still to be announced.

Top of the Terrace Summer Bash and Hottest 100 After Party
- Where: Mandurah Terrace
- When: 2pm – late
Mandurah’s biggest street party is coming to the ‘top of the terrace’ on the Australia Day long weekend with a charity cricket match and Triple J Hottest 100 after party.
The Summer Bash, raising money for the McGrath Foundation, will take over the Redmanna and Gloria Jeans car park from 2pm.
The Triple J Hottest 100 will be streaming live all afternoon, then from 5pm the celebrations continue with a Hottest 100 after party featuring DJ G-Martin Go Gabz on the decks til late.
