Quambie Park is a quality, accredited option for those seeking aged care services.
Services include in-home and community support, ranging from on-site, independent living to low- and high-care residential and respite options.
Quambie Park has a proud history and is a respected part of the local community.
In recognition of his late wife, Tom Corker established ‘Pam Corker House’ with a vision to provide high-level care for older people living in the local community.
Continuing the Corker legacy, Quambie Park provides the highest level of care across its residential services, including a secure wing for people living with dementia.
Established in May, 1985, Quambie Park now has more than 100 employees (not including contractors).
It has continued to grow and develop into an organisation that is responsive to need and now includes independent and community living.
“The aged care industry in Australia, and globally, is changing - we are seeing a significant increase in demand for aged care with an increased preference for independent living arrangements supported by community care, and a desire for greater autonomy and choice in aged care services,” Quambie Park CEO Sharon James said.
Sharon recently joined the organisation, bringing with her nearly 30 years of experience in aged and disability services..
She said there were many facets of Quambie Park, and that was what made it so successful.
“In order to be the provider of choice and to meet the holistic care needs of our consumers we have an employee base of multi-skilled, culturally diverse and exceptional care staff working across hotel and hospitality, lifestyle, maintenance, clinical, allied health and management and a committed board of directors and volunteers,” she said.
Quambie Park’s rich heritage and strong country values set it apart from others in the industry, Sharon said.
“This enables us to provide a genuine service to the people who have built and continue to live in our community – we are a community giving back to the community,” she said.
“We believe retirement years are about taking time for you, taking time to do those things that, due to life’s commitments, have been put on hold.
“At Quambie Park you are part of a vibrant community with endless possibility. No matter what stage of retirement you are at, we have services to suit your lifestyle and your family are at ease knowing that you are with us.”
When it comes to care, one size does not fit all. With so many options to choose from, it is a good idea to seek professional advice.
“This provides the opportunity to make informed decisions based on individual circumstance by considering initial and ongoing requirements including health, lifestyle and financial,” Sharon said.
When asked what was the best part of living in our wonderful region, Sharon’s answer was simple – everything - although she made special mention of the people, the community, the landscape and lifestyle, amenities and ease of access to local beaches and open space.
Indeed, Quambie Park and its people are very much involved in the wider community, Sharon said.
“We serve the community by meeting a need, we offer wonderful employment opportunities in the region and we support local business and infrastructure,” she said.
