There is only a few weeks left of the school holidays but the City of Mandurah’s Youth Development Team are still in full swing with a jam-packed calendar of events for local youth before school goes back.
There is a wide variety of programs and activities on offer, including a range of ‘How to Adult’ workshops to help teens gain important life skills.

Resume Writing Workshop
- When: January 15, 10am-1pm
- Where: Billy Dower Youth Centre
Whether you need help writing an awesome resume or a boost of confidence for a job interview, this workshop will cover all your burning questions.
This free event is in collaboration with Jobs and Skills WA and will focus on an introduction to resume writing and interviews, with tips to make you stand out from your competition and impress potential employers.
Lunch will be provided. The workshop is for youth aged 15-25 years old. Those who have one are encouraged to bring along a current resume for feedback.
Chill out at Yoga
- When: January 15, 3-4pm and January 25, 3-4pm
- Where: Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre (MARC)
Improve your physical strength and internal awareness at these Vikasa Yoga sessions, tailored specifically for young people.
Vikasa Yoga is an ever-evolving style of yoga that integrates traditional yoga with modern movements from a variety of disciplines and is an important skill to learn from a young age to focus on mindfulness and inner peace.
The class is for youth aged 15-25 years old and all participants must bring a yoga matt, a water bottle and wear appropriate workout gear.
Meet The Boss Workshop
- When: January 16, 10am-1pm
- Where: Billy Dower Youth Centre
Get all the best tips on what it takes to stand out from the crowd and learn how and why a boss chooses one employee from another at this Jobs and Skills WA workshop.
The free event will focus on providing young people with the opportunity to network with potential employers and learn interview skills for local businesses.
Lunch will be provided. The workshop is for youth aged 15-25 years old. Those who have one are encouraged to bring along a current resume for feedback and any questions you may have for local employers.
Basics of Car Maintenence
- When: January 21, 10am-12pm
- Where: Billy Dower Youth Centre
Whether you are new to cars or just keen to learn more, this free event is for you. Save yourself some money and potentially a heap of trouble by learning a few basic tricks and tips to keep your car in its best working order.
This workshop is for youth aged 15-25 years old and participants are encouraged to bring along a water bottle.
