Today's Birthday, January 13: Australian actor Liam Hemsworth (1990 - )
Australian heartthrob Liam Hemsworth appeared to tie the knot with longtime partner Miley Cyrus in a private ceremony in the US just before Christmas.
A wedding dress-clad Cyrus shared photos of the pair, one with the caption "10 years later", days after the low-key ceremony in late December.
Hemsworth often plays heroes on the silver screen. But he lived up to his billing in real life last year as deadly wildfires bore down on his Malibu home.
Cyrus revealed the Aussie managed to relocate the couple's 16 pets, including seven dogs, two mini horses, two regular-sized horses, two pigs and three cats.
"I was actually in South Africa and (wasn't able to) make sure my animals and all my living things were safe," Cyrus told Jimmy Fallon.
"He was trying to make me feel better because I wasn't there. He goes 'babe, I'm just dominating the evacuation - look at it!'."
Hemsworth was born far from that now-destroyed Malibu home and the fame of Tinseltown in Melbourne in 1990.
His family moved to Victoria's Phillip Island when he was in Year 8, with Hemsworth spending much of his teenage years surfing.
A passion for movies drove him to pursue acting, and he attended his first audition at age 16.
He went on to score roles in classic Australian TV shows Home and Away, Neighbours and McLeod's Daughters before he and his brother Chris were beckoned by the bright lights of Hollywood.
Hemsworth landed a role in the 2010 romantic drama The Last Song, where he met his future wife Cyrus.
He landed the role that propelled him to stardom in 2012 when cast in the blockbuster Hunger Games franchise alongside Jennifer Lawrence.
He's since appeared in various films including The Dressmaker in 2015 and Independence Day: Resurgence in 2016, with his next project Isn't It Romantic due for release later this year.
Hemsworth and Cyrus ended their engagement in 2013 but were spotted together three years later sparking furious speculation of a reunion.
The pair, who are both vegans, now live together with their animal brood in Nashville, Tennessee.
