Alleged Pinjarra shooter Michael Wayne Yates hands himself in to police

The man alleged to have fired a gunshot at a Pinjarra home on Monday has handed himself into police.

A widescale search for 51-year-old Michael Wayne Yates was underway after a gunshot was reportedly fired at a Hampton Road home about 6am on Monday.

WA Police have confirmed that Mr Yates attended a police station on Tuesday morning and is now in custody.

However, Mandurah detectives are still searching for the white 2005 Ford Territory, registration 1GLO 438, that he was believed to be driving.

The investigation is ongoing.
