2019 has already kicked off with a bang at the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre but with another jam-packed year of entertainment ahead, things are only just heating up.

This year’s Morning Melodies will start with the highly anticipated show Beyond Hitsville: Motown to Muscle Shoals on February 19.

Featuring the very best of the Milford Street Shakers, the show will pay tribute to some of the most soulful American music of all time in this extra special show.

Travelling from the definitive Motown sounds of Detroit to the swamps of Muscle Shoals, Chess Records to Stax and Marvin Gaye to the Supremes, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

There will also be hits from Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, James Brown and Etta James.

Powerhouse vocalist Lee Morunga leads a dynamic and explosive 9-piece band that will take you on a soulful journey through the American epicentres of groove from 1960s Chicago to Memphis, New York and Alabama.

The electrifying energy of the Milford Street Shakers is guaranteed to please audiences of all ages. 

Morning Melodies will start at 11am on Tuesday, February 19 with morning tea from 10am.
