This year has gone very fast. The parliament was very effective in passing history making legislation with 54 Bills passed
Millions of dollars of funding went to Mandurah and the Peel region over the course of the year.
This included over $9 million being committed to the Peel Health Campus and $1 million over four years for Allambee to provide support for victims of domestic violence.
The recent opening of the Peel Health Hub highlighted that when the three levels of government work together great things can be achieved.

We have seen the return to the Peel region as a police district in its own right, with a resident superintendent and the appropriate resources to address the policing challenges of our growing population.
The new four-lane Mandurah Traffic Bridge was opened and $2 million went to local community groups in Dawesville and Mandurah including Midway Community Care, the Peel Soup Kitchen and Pat Thomas House.
This is the time of year we reflect on our community.
There are a range of positive things about Mandurah and it is up to all levels of government to promote Mandurah as the beautiful opportunistic place it is.
I want us to stand together in 2019 and work for the people, for our community and be positive about the place we call home.
This is a time to remember not everyone is ok.

For some people, the festive period can be a really tough time of the year.
I would like to thank all of our emergency service workers, our nurses and doctors, and our police officers, who will all be working over Christmas and into the new year to ensure that we are safe and well this festive season.
