Falcon’s Cozies Beach hosted a string of young surfers for round two of the Mandurah Board Riders Junior Summer Series over the weekend.
Almost 50 grommets took to the surf scoring epic waves with big swells and little wind, as a bundle of young guns took out wins in their divisions.
Lochie Robinson was good enough to clinch the under 16 boys for the day, while Toby Jenkins held off Jerard Makin and Rylan Wilson to win the under 14 boys.
Alyssa Henderson put in an impressive performance to win the under 14 girls ahead of Lyla McPherson, while Leo Newbold finished atop a tough field of quality young surfers in the under 12 boys.
Paige Sanders (under 12 girls), Harry Jenkins (under 10 boys), Neco Higgins (under 10 girls), Mitchell Makin (under 8 boys) and Lulu wilson (under 8 girls) also picked up wins on the day.
Luca Jacobs earned one of the two Little Ripper awards for the day for taking off on the biggest wave of her life before helping out in the judges tent for the day, while Jerard Makin took home the second after showing huge improvement in his technique.
The youngsters were energised thanks to Miami Woolworths providing an abundance of fruit and bacon and egg sandwiches, while presentations were held at Falcon Bay with a surprise visit from Father Christmas as the grommets dined on a sausage sizzle courtesy from Margaret River Tender Meats.
