Human services company APM is on the lookout for 14 Mandurah residents to join its local team in delivering the National Disability Insurance Scheme in the Peel and South West regions.
Based in Perth, APM has been given approval to distribute NDIS local area coordinators (LAC) between the regions, and is looking to recruit Mandurah locals to the task.
The LAC is an important cornerstone of the NDIS and is delivered by Partners in the Community (PITC) who work closely with the scheme to build and improve the way it is delivered to work best for people with disability.
Group CEO Michael Anghie said APM was after motivated self-starters who wanted to make a difference to their local community.
“We are looking for passionate people who want to assist their local community to become more inclusive of people with disabilities,” Mr Anghie said.
“Our LAC team support people with disabilities by providing information and choice to achieve their personal goals.
“APM provides on the job training and mentoring and there are great opportunities across the business.”
Local area coordinators have three key roles; they help link people to the NDIS, they link them to information and support in the community, and they work with locals to make sure it is more welcoming and inclusive for people with disability.
