Summer kicked off on a festive note with hundreds of families visiting Cantwell Park, Pinjarra, on Wednesday to merrily ring-in the festive season.
he 2018 Murray Community Christmas Celebration offered attendees two-and-a-half hours of family fun and entertainment, according to Shire of Murray president David Bolt.
“While carolling is always the highlight of the evening, the Celebration’s younger attendees especially enjoyed the meet and greet with Santa as well as the complimentary face painting,” he said.
The Eco Faeries kicked off the evening’s festivities with their Faerie Merry Christmas Show and further entertained the kids with their roving acts. Free craft activities were also on offer.
Dinner was sorted with a variety of choices from local vendors and a line-up of food trucks and guests were able to browse the boutique selection of market stalls.
The Mandurah Murray Ulysses Group was in attendance to promote their annual charity ride taking place on Saturday.
“The Murray Community Christmas Celebration is a highlight on the Shire’s event calendar,” Cr Bolt said.
“It unites community members from across the district, as they gather together to experience the magic of the season.
“The event further demonstrates the strength and vibrancy of our community and is a fantastic opportunity to strengthen community ties.”
The 2018 event was proudly supported by Alcoa, Lotterywest, Bendigo Bank, Mandurah Mail and the Shire of Murray.
