The City of Mandurah closed Falcon and Avalon Beaches this morning after a reported shark sighting – but as of 11.30am, both have been reopened.
A two-metre great white shark was sighted 500m offshore from Falcon Bay Beach on Friday morning, Surf Life Saving WA have confirmed.
A public report was made at 6.10am at the popular Mandurah coastal location.
The sighting follows on from two sharks being spotted on Wednesday morning off Avalon Beach.
A City of Mandurah spokeswoman said both Falcon and Avalon Beaches were closed from 8.30am to 11.30am as a precaution after the shark sighting.
