Racing action will return to Pinjarra Park after a four-month hiatus this weekend, with thoroughbreds hitting the turf for the venue’s annual Alcoa Grandstand Cup and Christmas Race Day.
The track hasn’t held a meet since late August but will savour the return of the racing season, with 2018/19 promising to be a big one.
It all kicks off with the summer’s first meet this Sunday, with the Grandstand Cup promising a decent field.
The Peter Farrell-trained Kaapander looks set to contest for the top prize money, while Simon Miller’s King of Chaos could be one to watch.
Outside of the racing action, thousands of spectators and keen punters are expected to hit the venue for the season-opening meet.
Following in its wake will be a Thursday meet on December 20, with the highly-anticipated Boxing Day fixture next on the calendar.
The ever-popular Magic Millions WA Ladies Day will keep race-goers and fashionistas entertained on Saturday, February 9, with the Pinjarra Classic being raced just a fortnight afterwards.
