The option of pink taxis with female-only drivers has also proven popular with their older passengers.
Seniors and Ageing Minister Mick Murray presented the awards at the ceremony, which is the culmination of WA Seniors Week 2018.
He said the awards honoured the important contributions of seniors and those dedicated to the causes of seniors.
“The seniors awards do a wonderful job of demonstrating the benefits of positive, active ageing - and remind everyone that age is not a barrier to achieving great things,” he said.
“I congratulate and thank the individual winners and nominees for the outstanding work they have done in their communities.”
The 2018 WA Seniors Awards are presented by the Council on the Ageing (WA) in partnership with the state government.
