With Christmas quickly approaching, Mandurah Mareena Purslowe Funerals have again put the call out for donations for their It’s in the Bag campaign.
The charity drive that helps women in need will run until December 2 and is run by national charity Share the Dignity.
The funeral home will be collecting donations of handbags filled with feminine hygiene products and other essentials to help women of all ages experiencing poverty, homelessness and domestic violence.
Location manager Carmel Markham said her team were committed to supporting women.
“It’s disconcerting to know there are women on our doorstep who need our help to afford basic hygiene products that most of us take for granted,” she said.
“As a member of the Mandurah community and a committed and professional team of women, we want to help and would appreciate any donations people can spare.
“The intention of our staff is to make everyone, of all cultures and religious backgrounds, feel cared for during very difficult times, we hope to do the same for these vulnerable women to help them enjoy one of the most joyous times of the year.”
