Students at Halls Head Primary School ran through rainbows to raise almost $11,800 in much-needed funds for their school.
More than 400 students took part in the school colour run on October 19.
Ailsa Hacket from Halls Head Primary School said the students’ commitment to the event was second to none.
“Our students are so excited about the money they’ve helped raise for school resources,” she said.
“They thoroughly enjoyed participating in the school fun run alongside their peers as they cheered each other on.”
School Fun Run program director Brendan Hopp said the organisation took great pride in helping schools improve student wellbeing and their learning environment.
“School Fun Run has been supporting schools for more than 30 years,” he said.
“As one of the few school fundraisers in Australia that is purely health based, we love seeing the kids take part as they work on building active and healthy lifestyles.”
Almost 300,000 students will jog over half a million kilometres this year across the country as part of the School Fun Run program.
In return for their effort, schools are forecasted to raise $6 million this year – the equivalent of selling nine million chocolate bars.
