A collective of Meadow Springs artists will showcase more than 100 brand new works at the annual Art in the Springs exhibition later this month.
The group of roughly 20 artists from around the suburb has been meeting at their RAAFA Meadow Springs Retirement Village base to work on their pieces over the past few months, and will have them show when the exhibit kicks off on Friday, November 23.
The annual event has been running for over a decade, and will include a range of works from traditional to contemporary pieces made of water, pastel, acrylic, oil and resin-based methods.
Artwork will be raffled off at the show with proceeds going towards helping the club continue its workshops throughout the year, while local artist Helen Davies will be putting on demonstrations for the crowd.
Event organisers Bronwen Armstrong and Joan Biffin said the exhibition was a significant event for the group.
“It’s very exciting for us – the show is something we look forward to every year and it’s certainly our biggest event,” Armstrong said.
“Throughout the year we’ll have workshops presented to us by artists from all around the place so for us to now present our own work is very nice,” Biffin added.
The show will span from November 23-25, opening from 9am-5pm on Friday and Saturday before a 9am-3.30am time slot on the Sunday.
