Mandurah BMX Club riders picked up a bundle of awards at the WA State Titles in Kalgoorlie last month.
A total 27 Mandurah riders ranging from mini-wheelers to the 30-plus women age bracket took to the track looking to do their club proud, and they returned to their Park Road base boasting six new state plates and 17 trophies.
Youngsters Emmerson Barton-Collins, Ava Jeffery and Leo McLeod all represented the club in the mini-wheelers while Memphis McLeod, Jack Reid, Jake Jose, Xavier Bell, Levi Cartwright, Ashlin Barton-Collins, Indi Harrison and Amelie Reid all rode in sprockets divisions.
Madisen Scott (9 girls), Seth Barker, Levi Cartwright (9 boys), Sasha Jeffery (10 girls), Brayden Greene (10 boys), Hudson McLeod, Eli Pantalone (11 boys), Aaron Jeffery, Thomas Neve (12 boys), Kara Harrison (13 girls), Jackson Condo (16 boys), Lillyrose Harrison (16-29 women), Jai Barker (25-34 men), Joel McLeod (25-29 men’s cruiser) and Michelle Newport (30-plus women) also competed at the event.
A handful of those riders took home state plates, including Sasha Jeffery, Eli Pantalone, Lillyrose Harrison, Jai Barker, Joel McLeod and club president Michelle Newport.
“For a few of our riders this was their first state titles, for many others they have been competing for a couple of years,” Newport said.
“The atmosphere was completely crazy.”
