Ocean goers in the Port Bouvard area have been warned to take caution after a shark was sighted 50 metres offshore near Avalon Point on Thursday.
At 9.13am, Surf Live Saving Western Australia received a public report that a 2.5 metre shark was spotted in the area.
The species of the creature is unknown.
The sighting comes after reports that a great white shark was jumping out of the water close to Mandurah surfers on Tuesday morning.

The sighting is of particular concern as the Mandurah Board Riders gear up for their Junior Summer Series.
About 50 grommets will hit the water for round one of the annual series this Sunday.
Avalon Beach is a popular surf break south of the city centre, along Mandurah’s coastline.
Waves break at a reef located 200 metres offshore.
If you spot a shark, report the incident to Water Police on 9442 8600.
