An overcast Wednesday greeted competitors for day four of the 2018 Australasian Police and Emergency Services Games (APES).
The day marked the half way point of the week-long Games campaign and saw a lighter schedule of events.
Athletes competed in the AFL 9’s competition at Rushton Park with men and women playing on mixed teams on smaller ovals than regular AFL.
The women were also striving for victory at the Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre in the netball competition. There were a number of injuries with one player seen to by paramedics and wheeled off the court.

There was also angling at the Mandurah Offshore Sailing and Fishing Club, soccer, lawn bowls and hockey in Halls Head and ten pin bowling.
The 5km and 10km cross country running events took place in the morning at the Larkhill Sports Complex.
Held every two years, the games run across seven days and are a multi-discipline sporting event for serving, retired and volunteer members of police and emergency service agencies.
This year marks the 17th instalment of the games, following successful events at the Sunshine Coast (2016) and Melbourne (2014).
