Thousands of people flooded Mandurah’s eastern foreshore on Sunday, for the opening ceremony of the 2018 Australasian Police and Emergency Services Games (AP&ES).
Held every two years, the games run across seven days and are a multi-discipline sporting event for serving, retired and volunteer members of police and emergency service agencies.
This year marks the 17th instalment of the games, following successful events at the Sunshine Coast (2016) and Melbourne (2014).
The main participants parade was held along the eastern foreshore at 6pm, with fireworks following at 8pm.
