Mandurah’s first-grade players took down the Waroona Warriors with ease during the Peel Cricket Association’s third round of competition.
Players battled through rain and wind at the Meadow Springs Sports Facility on Saturday.
In the first innings of the midday match, Mandurah’s opening batters looked ready to steer the team to a win.
Jeremy Leatherbarrow planted 46 on the tally board followed by Ian Lattimore, who claimed 42 runs.
Mandurah’s top scorer for the match was Sach In, who amassed 50 runs.
Not long after In raised his bat, he was sent to the pavilion after he was caught out by Daniel Abel.
He also boasted a great bowling display, securing two wickets and three maiden out of 9.3.
Zac Moody also claimed four wickets across 10 overs. Mandurah were dismissed for 235.
Waroona, battling second, only scored 158 in 37.3 overs.
Halls Head defeat Warnbro
Warnbro captain Ben Doudle used every ball at his disposal on Saturday at Peelwood Reserve, claiming 52 runs from 51 balls faced.
His mission at the crease came to a close when Halls Head’s Kyle Jeffrey took out the bails from behind him.
In fact, Jeffrey had a ripper game, taking four wickets off nine overs.
His efforts lead to Warnbro dismissing Halls Head for 181 across 50 overs.
A stellar performance by Michael Chappell with 89 runs from 102 balls, all-but secured Halls Head’s victory.
Halls Head declared at two for 184 off 33.5 runs.
Shoalwater Bay defeat Hillman
After winning the toss and electing to bat, Hillman’s first innings started well.
However, Hillman were all out for 206 in 46.4 overs.
With rain coming down, Shoalwater Bay set about running down the total and were looking good at 6/136 at 29 overs before the game was declared abandoned.
Hillman’s Ben Voges was the top scoring batsman on the day, with 61 runs. His run came to an end when he was caught and bowled by Shoalwater Bay’s Edwards.
Pinjarra drew with Singleton Irwinians
Singleton Irwinians won the toss and sent Pinjarra into bat first, however, the game was quickly abandoned.
Baldivis defeat South Mandurah
South Mandurah kicked off the first innings with an explosive partnership between Daniel Jones and Jesse Buck.
Jones claimed 58 runs before he was caught out by the White Knights’ Dylan Gray, which was sent down the oval by Mitch Brown.
Buck held on a little longer to claim 85 before he was bowled by Brown.
The duo lead the team to a score of 203 from 47 overs.
White Knight Baldivis batsmen Gray and Cameron Reyne both capitalised on the balls at their disposal.
From 68 balls faced, Reyne claimed 78 runs and Gray scored 20 runs from 20 balls.
Shoalwater were looking the good at 5/184 at 39 overs before the game was declared abandoned.
