Every year for the past 19 years, the combined Rotary Clubs of Mandurah have held an annual Rotary Ambrose Golf Day to raise funds for the local community.
This year’s event is to be held on November 22 at The Mandurah Country Club, with proceeds going to the new PYMS Mental Health Hub.
The PYMS (Peel Youth Medical Services) health hub, based centrally in Allnutt Street in Mandurah, is designed to bring the region’s medical and mental health services for young people together in one building. It is expected to open later this year.
The Peel Health Hub will be a one-stop shop for the health needs of young people in the Peel region, providing a coordinated response to the health issues impacting young people including mental health, suicide, drugs and alcohol.
It is vital that the health hub creates a welcoming, safe and non-threatening environment for the Peel region’s youth in need. An incredibly important aspect of this is landscaping and activating the space.
To this end they plan to have beautiful native vegetation with areas of seating, both bench style and tables and chairs, as well as some gym equipment. The Rotary golf day’s funds will contribute to this effort.
The golf day is a great day, full of fun, with prizes offered for novelty holes, drinks offered throughout the course and it all kicks off with a sausage sizzle – kindly provided by Lions Club of Mandurah. The day closes with a three-course dinner, with presentation of winners, a grand raffle and a charity auction.
The opportunity for a naming rights sponsor is still available for $2500 and there are still spaces for teams of four to enrol for $150 per player. For more information please email Barry at barry@kenbrockflooring.com.au or call 0413 321 181.
