In just two months, Coles Halls Head and its customers have contributed more than $6,000 to the Country Women’s Association of Western Australia (CWA) to help drought-affected farmers.
Across the state Coles customers raised more than $459,000 making the team at Coles Halls Head the fifth highest fundraising store in WA.
Coles matched every donation to the farming community dollar-for-dollar during August and September to help drought-affected communities with household and family expenses.
More than $7 million was raised across Australia.
In addition, Coles pledged $5 million in grants or interest-free loans from the Coles Nurture Fund to farmers who have a project that will help them to combat drought in the future.
The Country Women’s Association of WA President Heather Allen thanked Coles and its customers for their generous contribution which will go towards supporting drought-affected families.
“For over 94 years the CWA of WA has had the pleasure of supporting our Western Australian community in good times and bad,” she said.
“We are extremely pleased to act as a conduit to see funds donated by Coles customers and Coles itself reach those who need them most.

Coles state general manager Pat Zanetti said Coles is overwhelmed by the generosity of local shoppers across Western Australia who have shown their support for through donations.
“We are incredibly grateful for this tremendous contribution from our customers and team members who have gone above and beyond to raise funds for the CWA drought appeal,” he said.
“Many of our WA store teams hosted bake sales, dress up days and collected food donations which went towards preparing hampers for local families impacted by the drought.
“Thanks to their generous donations and fundraising efforts, more than $459,000 will go back to supporting local farmers, growers and producers who are experiencing hardship as a result of the drought.”
