Award-winning entertainers Rhonda Burchmore and Perth’s very own Lara Mulcahy are packing up their lycra and flying west to deliver ABBA-solutely Fabulous.
The girls will be bringing their favourite ABBA songs and tales of their own friendship to the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre on November 2.
Mulcahy said she couldn’t wait to get back to WA and see everybody.
“Darling Rhonda Burchmore and I met in the original production of Mamma Mia in 2001 and we became best friends and we’ve always wanted to work together since then and haven’t had an opportunity,” she said.
“Last year it was 40 years since ABBA had come to Australia with their big concert, so we thought why not put a show together and celebrate that.
“It’s really a show about celebrating ABBA with 20 of their songs but it’s us being ourselves and talking about our friendship, how we grew up being huge ABBA fans.”
The dynamic duo are promising to bring smash hits including Dancing Queen, Waterloo, Mamma Mia, Rock Me, Does Your Mother Know, with laughs and plenty of lycra, as they pay homage to a group that dominated the world music scene for so many years.
“A lot of women come, bring their girlfriends, have a great night out and lots of fun,” Mulcahy said.
“They can put all their troubles aside for two hours and have a laugh and sing-along and forget their worries.
“It’s something light because we’re so used to sitting at home flicking through Netflix so it’s good to get out and enjoy live entertainment and support live entertainment, which I think is really important.”
