WAMFest Mandurah 2018 is gearing up for another WAMamazing event on Friday, October 19.
Now in it’s 25th year, the festival showcases WA’s emerging artists, bands and producers and is a popular celebration of home grown talent in the Peel region.
Held at the Fishtrap Theatre in the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre, this year’s performance follows on from a hugely successful show last year.
The 2017 gig featured headlining act and much loved Mandurah band Good Doogs.
The three-piece band took national airways by storm after uploading tracks to Triple-J Unearthed.
They were joined by an equally impressive line-up of local acts including Indigo and Apple Jack and Moonshine.
Friday’s free event will kick off with Navana’s indie pop rock sounds from 6-6.30pm, followed by Mr Biss & Max from 6.40-7pm.
A change in pace, reggae and roots band Guthrie Trio will entrance the audience with their accompanying relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere from 7.15-8pm.
A popular face at Oyster Bar Mandurah, lead singer Darren Guthrie will be joined by band mates Jase Le Scelle on bass and Maxx Carter on drums and percussion.
The trio recently released their first album as a group, ‘Seeds of Change’ with each track presenting a personal comment on current socio-political issues to empower and encourage societal change.
Indie garage rock band Mirrors At The Arcade, AKA MATA, will play from 8.15-9pm.
Well known for their “killer live performances”, singer and guitarist Edward Leis, bassist Jake Hatch and drummer Billy O'Connor have audiences hot and sweaty jumping to their tunes.
The trio are expecting to release their next single ‘Inflation Frustration’ on October 27.
Finally, indie punk rockers from South Perth, Asparagus Soop will bring in the night with their alternative rock songs from 9.15-10pm.
Influenced by bands as diverse as Dune Rats and Red Hot Chilli Peppers, the trio are already making a name for themselves with their passionate and energetic songs.
The young band only formed a year ago and have already played an awesome lineup of gigs with local legends, with their set at WAMFest expected to impress Mandurah music lovers.
