Mandurah team raise awareness for National Headspace Day | Photos

Mandurah’s new Headspace foundation has helped to raise awareness during Mental Health Week with a variety of activities in the Mandurah Forum.

It was a part of the team’s first National Headspace Day, described as a ‘rad, colourful and crafty’ event to bring further attention to the national week.

Team members and volunteers performed live music, ran a yoga class and gave origami lessons as part of the event.

Headspace National Youth Mental Health Foundation has revealed alarming new data on the levels of psychological distress amongst young Australians as part of their National Day.

It found nearly one in three young Australians between 12 and 25 are reporting  high or very high levels of psychological distress.

Additionally, the rates of distress are significantly higher amongst young women – 38 per cent compared to 26 per cent of young men.
