The Peel Development Commission (PDC) has announced the appointment of their new community representative, with Michelle Sidebottom set to take on the role.
Currently working as the managing director of Breakaway Tourism Pty Ltd (a project management and consultancy firm specialising in tourism, hospitality, events, recreation, senior living, training and workforce development), Ms Sidebottom brings strong business experience to the role.
Her professional experience has seen her design, develop and implement local to major statewide business and workforce developmental projects, which have achieved economic development goals through the provision of excellence in service, innovation and collaboration.
Now Ms Sidebottom is hoping to transfer her passion into the new role.
“I am a proud Peel resident and business owner and have been a highly vocal advocate about all the wonderful attributes of life and business in the Peel region,” she said.
“I believe that we are capable of strategically evolving to do things better for our community, industry and the environment for a sustainable and prosperous future here in the Peel region.
“I greatly look forward to working with the commission board in my role as community representative.”
Her appointment was recommended by Minister for Regional Development Alannah MacTiernan and was endorsed by Cabinet last week.
PDC board chair Paddi Creevey said the appointment was an exciting one for the commission.
“We are delighted to welcome Ms Sidebottom to the board,” she said.
“She will be a highly valuable asset to the Commission with her diverse set of skills, knowledge and experience and networks to complement the already important existing and future work of the commission.”
