The Mandurah Performing Arts Centre has announced a handful of school holiday events to keep families busy over the next two weeks.
The Boardwalk theatre will welcome comedy-duo, The Listies, who will be bringing their bestselling book Ickypedia: A Dictionary of Disgusting New Words, to the stage.
Ickypedia is a silly show that answers all of life’s unimportant questions including, What happens if you don’t clean your room?
The comedians will use bubble machines, toilet paper-guns and improvised chaos to appeal to the whole family.
The pair will perform on October 4, at 11am and 1pm.
If you are looking for inexpensive family entertainment, join in with the Messy Moments Workshop, where young ones will learn through play, with a qualified and experienced teacher.
Children will have the opportunity to make slime and nurture their imagination and curiosity in a workshop on October 4, from 9.30am to 3pm.
Parents are advised to bring a change of clothes for workshop participants.
Another popular workshop teaching children circus tricks will be back from October 1 to 3.
Organisers Pulse Production promise to teach new skills, increase confidence and concentration and build team work in a safe, non-competitive and nurturing environment.
An opportunity to learn how to make short videos from your mobile phone, with iMovie, will be offered for the older children on October 5, at 10.30am.
The basics will be taught including setting the scene, pre-production tips, lighting, sound, performing and editing.
The participant must bring their mobile or iPad and be at least 11-years-old.
Lastly, the West Australian Ballet – Storytime Sessions will be held for children aged three to eight-years-old on September 28, from 10am, 11am and 1pm.
Each session begins with the workshop facilitator reading a classic ballet story, introducing the characters and the themes of the book.
Children are then led through a series of creative movement activities inspired by the characters, the story and the music from the ballet.
The café will also be open for light lunch, cakes and drinks.
