Pinjarra Bakery and Patisserie have confirmed their place among Australia’s best after taking home a swag of prizes at the recent 2018 Baking Industry Awards.
The local eatery put on a dazzling display of creativity and skill to walk away with three national awards plus winning 11 gold, five silver and one bronze from 17 entries – their most successful haul.
Head pastry chef Paul Pantaleo, master creator Darren Rowe and artistic talent Dhing Tuiza were the masterminds behind the mouth-watering delights.
Co-owner Daniel Pantaleo said hard work and an inventive approach had paid dividends for the Pinjarra Bakery.
“We are very passionate about what we do and our craft – a lot of work goes into producing these show pies – it is nice for the guys to receive the accolades and awards,” he said.
“The customers come in and love seeing the trophies – but probably more the pies themselves. The pies are going to start getting out there now for people to enjoy.”
Founder and chief executive Larry Pantaleo said the business was delighted to be on the national stage.
“We put a lot of hard work and love into everything we do and it’s great to see the judges recognising our effort and our skills,” he said.
“Top marks to the boys for stepping up on the day, but the credit also goes to our entire bakehouse team who create, bake and serve many thousands of pies every week.”
