The Mandurah Cheesecake shop will continue to sell strawberries with the store manager saying they relied on the ingredient to sell cakes.
The Cheesecake shop manager Ketan Patel said strawberries were a main ingredient used on, and in, their cakes.
“We use them all the time – in creams and for decoration,” he said.
“Without strawberries we can’t sell the cakes.

“They are beautiful and have a great flavour.
“We want to show our support for the farmers and local stores that sell the fruit.”
Going forward, employees will slice the strawberries.
Managing director Ken Rosebery said the business would not be intimidated by “malicious saboteurs”.
“We are also encouraging our franchisees to be extra generous with strawberries on our cakes,” he said.
He said the organisation had more than 200 stores in Australia, that use more than 200,000 punnets of strawberries per year.
