Rockingham’s reserves fended off a fast-finishing Pinjarra outfit in a tight last quarter to book their spot in the grand final with a nail-biting five-point win at Parnell Street Oval on Saturday.

The match proved to be a tale of two halves, with the Rams booting the first six goals of the day all coming in the first half while Pinjarra went without a major in the opening two quarters.
But the Tigers flipped the script in the second half, keeping Rockingham goalless in the final two terms while piling on five unanswered goals of their own.
Ryan Budd booted both of his goals in the final term to inspire the comeback effort, but his side fell one goal short of getting over the line.
The Rams looked up and about in the opening term when Riley Allison’s dominant work around the ground helped lead to three goals, one of them off his own boot, while Brandon Smith and Jake Vittorangeli also hit the scoreboard.
The pressure was well and truly on the Tigers by half time after Lucas Humphreys and Tim Dowe combined for three goals in the second to help Rockingham lead by 35 at half time.
Pinjarra looked done before they turned the corner in the second half, with inspiring efforts from Matthew Bee helping Cliff Brough and Kim Eddy team up for three goals.
Overcoming the deficit still seemed a far stretch until Budd’s two goals in the last brought the Tigers within five points.
But it wasn’t to be for Pinjarra, as Rockingham clutched to their lead for a narrow win.
The Rams now progress to a grand final against South Mandurah, where they will go in with the underdog status after a dominant year from the Falcons’ twos.
