Surfers and swimmers are being warned to take caution around Preston Beach in Falcon, after a dead dolphin has washed ashore - potentially attracting sharks to the area.
Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA) said the carcass was located about 1.5 kilometres off the northern entrance at the beach.
The spokesman said the decomposing carcass will potentially attract sharks to the Mandurah beaches.
