Drivers and passengers involved in a crash that left a car on its roof near Pinjarra on Sunday were lucky to escape with minor injuries.
About 3.20pm, a white Mitsubishi sedan and grey Kia SUV collided at the Pinjarra Road and Forrest Street intersection.
The Kia was travelling east along Pinjarra Road and the Mitsubishi heading north along Forrest Street at the time of the crash.
Bystanders at the scene directed traffic and helped passengers out of the overturned car.
Police and St John Ambulance arrived at the scene a short time later.
Department of Fire and Emergency Services also attended and cleaned up a fuel spill.
Both cars sustained serious damage in the incident.
Police will continue an investigation into the cause of the crash.
